Members’ Code of Conduct

At Live Wire Ensemble, we aim to create an inclusive, bold, friendly and supportive community where musicians of all backgrounds and abilities can make music, build confidence and have fun together.

All members are expected to follow these principles:

1

Respect everyone

Treat all members, regardless of age, ability, experience or background, with kindness, respect and consideration. Bullying, harassment, discrimination or intimidating behaviour will not be tolerated.

2

Be Inclusive and Supportive

Encourage one another, celebrate each other’s progress and help create a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and able to contribute.

3

Be Prepared and Punctual

Arrive on time for rehearsals, bring your instrument, music and necessary equipment, and make a reasonable effort to practise your parts between sessions.

4

Work as a Team

Listen to others, follow the Musical Director’s guidance, respect rehearsal time and contribute positively to the ensemble’s shared goals.

5

Communicate Responsibly

Inform the Musical Director or relevant organiser if you cannot attend a rehearsal or performance. Communicate respectfully in person and through group chats, including WhatsApp.

6

Act Safely and Responsibly

Follow safeguarding, health and safety guidance, respect personal boundaries and report any concerns about the welfare of yourself or another member to the appropriate person.

7

Respect Privacy

Do not share another member’s personal information, photographs, recordings or private conversations without appropriate permission.

8

Represent Live Wire Positively

Behave respectfully at rehearsals, performances and events, and help uphold the ensemble’s reputation and values.

9

Enjoy Making Music!

Be creative, take musical risks, support new ideas and remember that progress matters more than perfection.
