Everyone has a place at Live Wire. Different ages, backgrounds, instruments and musical experiences are what make the ensemble interesting.

We want to experiment, combine styles and play music you might not expect to hear together.

Whether it’s a tricky passage of music, a composer or artist you haven’t heard before, or a song you think you may not like, before you pass judgement, give it a go and give yourself a chance.

Nobody is expected to be perfect. We’re here to help each other improve, learn and enjoy making music.

Bring enthusiasm. You don’t have to be the best player in the room — just bring your energy and commitment.

We want to create performances that we’re genuinely proud of and continually push what a community ensemble can be.
